As the long weekend that follows Thanksgiving comes to a close, I find myself wrestling with my desire to relax and the impending deadline of my finance research paper on the Lyric Opera. I hate, I repeat, I hate group papers. Well, that's not entirely true, I guess it all depends on who your group members are. Our problem is that we have such conflicting schedules that meeting is generally impossible, for me at least. It probably has a little to do with the fact that this finance (FIN300) is crap, and the professor is even worse. It will be such a relief next year when I'm done with all these non-major oriented courses. No more finance, no more accounting, no more IDS.
I did get my Starbucks paper finished for my Organizational Theory and Design course. That wasn't bad at all, and that was a group paper. We rocked the presentation; some of us did. Some of us appeared to have never gone over out materials before stepping in front of the class. The result? We went over our time limit, and I had to basically give a two sentence presentation. I'll be pissed if we get graded down on time because of it. Some people can present with little to no prep if they know their materials. Others need to practice practice practice. Figure which you are and adjust accordingly.
My dad's making chili, I can smell it all the way up here. I can't wait till that's done tonight. That reminds me that I wanted to try a new chili recipe this winter too. Unfortunately I won't be around to enter the Frankfort Chili Cookoff this February. I'm running out of time to cook it though. My flight for Ireland leaves January 7th at 6:30pm. I hope the kitchen in the dorm is well equipped, I would hate to not be able to cook for myself for 6 months! It would be nice if my roommates cooked too, but most guys I know can't cook mac-n-cheese without disastrous consequences.
Ok, enough procrastination...back to writing.
